ABTC at Wiveton Hall
Wiveton Hall Farm lays between the fishing hamlets of Cley and Blakeney on the stunning North Norfolk Coastline. The house is a dreamy, flint-faced Dutch-gabled, Jacobean Manor House, built in the 17th century. This is an English stately home and working farm. The unique atmosphere combined with the fabulous fresh food available to eat in the wonderful quirky cafe, or al fresco under the pines with sea views over the marshes, make it one North Norfolk’s favourite foodie venues. Along with the vibrant award winning cafe, there’s a maize maze in July and August, and shop stocked with local plants, produce, and antiques. There are regular art events along with the personal tours that Desmond, Lord of the Manor hosts himself. Not forgetting the garden trails which take you around the grounds of the hall, offering tantalising views of the house, and the sea, and end with the spectacular walled garden, which is a triumph of English blooms in the Summer months.
Amid the strawberry fields and raspberry canes live 6 of our cosy stylish 5m cotton bell tents. The site here is more compact. A row of tents twixt sea marsh and farm land, with the shelter of the forest on either side. With ropes in the trees to swing from, empty boats to set sail in, and the Wiveton Wendy house to reside in, there is imaginative play to be had here for the children. March to the top of Wiveton Hill and roll down the other side. Visit the piggies, watch the farm birds with their chicks. Play hide and seek on the garden paths and get lost in the maize maze. For the grown ups, stroll to the cafe for breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, cake, surf and turf, pizza - rest assured, you are catered for on site here, so take the weight off. Or enjoy your own little sheltered nook of North Norfolk with a camp fire cook up on the camp.
Note: There are no wood burning stoves in the tents at Mannington Hall and Wiveton Hall….there will still be a fire pit outside your tent for cooking and warming your feet in the evening…gas stoves are available to purchase for cooking. All other sites will still have wood stoves in the tents.
The site literally sits on the coastal path - so you can walk straight onto the marsh and into Blakeney with no roads to pass. From here, the walks open out across the marshes either in a sweeping loop back to Cley and then onto Wiveton, or for more adventurous hikers, to Morston, Stiffkey, Wells and Holkham. The coast hopper bus runs late into the evening so you can enjoy unspoilt coastal path walks, finish with a pint and hop onto the bus back to camp. Cycling? Our partners drop bikes directly to your tents. Take them on the back lanes, snaking through the quintessential Norfolk villages of Langham, Binham, Warham, it's all just gorgeous, especially when the Hollyhocks are in bloom. Want to get friendly with the locals? Take a seal trip from Morston onto Blakeney Point. Want to swim? The beach at Cley is a favourite evening swimming spot for locals, who cycle down with their picnics to enjoy the bracing waters. It's a 10 minute cycle ride away, through Cley town and then onto the beach road, stopping off first at Picnic Fayre for some take out Norfolk delights.

Walk to Blakeney Quay - wild swim in the 'freshers' (mud alert! - bring the little one's wetsuits..)
Bring a kayak, canoe or paddle board and mess about in the creeks. Check the tide times!
Try your luck at crabbing off the quay, boat launches, or bridges over the salt marsh
Walk from here over the salt marsh and back to Cley via the windmill and the town stopping for ice creams and coffee before heading back to camp
Visit nearby Wells Next The Sea beach and get lost in the pines - look out for the rope swings - jump off the sand dunes, choose your favourite beach hut - and just enjoy this wild swathe of East England beach
Cycle to Cley Beach for an evening dip. (Water shoes recommended)
Take a seal trip from Morston into Blakeney with Beans Boats
Visit Letheringsett water mill and paddle in the ford there
Want more nature - visit nearby 'Natural Surroundings' - a small private nature reserve on the ground of Bayfield Hall

Cley Marshes - bird spotters paradise - with boardwalks taking you to lots of welcoming hides to watch and learn from, as well as a fantastic visitors centre and cafe for an accessible educational look at one of the best bird habitats in Europe
For steam train enthusiasts - the Poppy Line runs from Sheringham to Holt with views of the sea and beyond. Walk from Weybourne over the cliffs to Sheringham and take the train back!
